When you publish your Website Builder website, the current version in the editor becomes live and publicly accessible at your connected domain. Anyone visiting your website address will see the published version.
What publishing does
Publishing:
- Makes your latest saved changes live
- Updates your live website to match the editor version
- Overwrites the previously published version
- Changes made inside the editor are not visible to visitors until you click Publish again
Domain connection requirement
Your website will only be visible if your domain is properly connected to your hosting account. Before publishing, ensure you ensure your domain is properly connected.
If DNS changes were recently made, it may take time for them to fully propagate, so your site may not appear immediately for all visitors.
Republishing updates
If you make edits after publishing:
- Make changes inside the editor
- Review your updates
- Click Publish again
Republishing replaces the live version with the updated one.
Unpublishing your website
If you need to temporarily take your site offline, you can temporarily unpublish your website from the settings section.
When unpublished:
- Visitors will not see your website
- Your content remains saved inside the editor
- You can republish at any time
After publishing
Once live, it is recommended to:
- Visit your domain in a browser
- Test navigation, links, and forms
- Check how your site displays on mobile devices
- Confirm images, layout, and styling appear correctly
- Note that search engines may take time to index your website after it goes live
